Sewing my own clothing started in high school. I started doing it, because I am an odd size and it was hard to find clothes that fit me in stores. Then, I discovered it was a great way to be creative and design my own clothes. My mom knew how to sew things that looked good. She was firm in teaching me her methods and not letting me get away with making clothing or anything else from fabric that looked tacky. She showed me many techniques, and gave me many warnings that prevented my handmade clothing from looking home-made. Thanks to her, everything I made looked like it came from a store, or even a boutique. In this book, I will focus on simple, easy sewing techniques you can do that will greatly improve the look of your final finished clothing. I will not cover haute couture sewing techniques. That goes way beyond where we will be going today. The more simple, easy sewing techniques you can learn, you will set up a strong foundation of sewing skills that you can build on. Evenutally, if you wish, you can learn the haute couture sewing skills, allowing you to create even more boutique-quality clothes, and then from there, the sky is the limit. But, simple, easy sewing techniques set the stage and the foundation for everything you want to sew.
Shera Rose Kincaid is a diabetic. She has been writing since 2008. She is willing to write just about anything, but focuses on health, creativity, and food.
