Bikini for Life-Exercise Success, a Trainer's Observations of What Works After Training Clients for Years, is a book written by Donna Kay Lau, Fitness Trainer for 16+ years, Lau who has been an athlete herself has written a book with her observations of what really works. Many exercise books and diet books have written about what new or recent trends and fads are out there, where we need all the creativity of the latest and the greatest, Lau just writes about what works. Lau has trained and still trains clients for all these years and gets results. Lau has for over 16+ years combined her experience as a wellness/fitness coach, she has applied her success and experience as an artist and animator, in a very competitive field, to achieve goals outside of the gym as well. Lau elaborates and gives her opinions on exercise trends, and what she believes is the simplest way to just be successful with exercise and nutrition. This candid book explains what she uses with and for her clients, and has motivated many people to continue to have great health, fitness, wellness, and performance. This book covers the simplist things that just work. Lau has spread to all of her clients over the years to focus on health and wellness before trying to focus on performance or how you look, and explains her experiences in the fitness industry, and sheds information on how you can have exercise success. After observing many clients fail prior to training them, Lau gets her clients to be creative and Lau's approach to exercise and wellness is refreshing and realistic, Lau's clients gleam with SUCCESS and they keep coming back for years! The title Bikini for Life...is her mantra that she lives by to remind herself to always keep trying to be healthy not just to look great in a Bikini, but to never stop giving up on looking great and feeling great for Life. It is never too late for wellness.
Do we need another Exercise book? Yes! Yes! Yes! I decided to write this book because I have for years tried to explain to clients, and especially cycling students, how to train. But I only usually have 10 minutes. Attention span of the adults seem to be worse than Children. In fact I think that Adults take more medication these days for Adult Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD), than children. So try to explain fast and quick and keep someone engaged. We have so much information in our heads, we can only retain so much information. I used to tell people I met on the airplane traveling or new people I meet, I tell them that I am an accountant. Why? I usually have to sit and discuss on my day off, how they need to lose weight, and then they try to convince me that they do all these things, I mention. I enjoy discussing people's weight loss on my vacation. Yes and No. Everyone wants me to tell them do this, and do that. A two minute answer. I Love when someone asks...What exercise is the best for getting rid of this? I have seen it all, and I have experienced it all. I start to help someone out, because I Love to help others and everyone says you should put that information in a book so you can take the time to explain it. For years I thought I should but never really set aside the time to do it, then my publisher gave me the idea to write: I Grow People...and The Secret Sauce for Indoor Cycling Instructors. These books are also fitness/exercise information, but this book is written for anyone interested in my stories, opinions, experience, of my Fitness trainer experience. I gather all my stories, observations, as a memoir, and also an exercise information book of what I learned from YOU, and others while being a fitness trainer and coach for all these years. I have worked in the fitness industry for over 18 years. This is an easy read and just a fun book about all my experiences. This book was written with no affiliation with any fitness companies I have worked for and it does not mention any particular client or student, and if you are one of my clients you might see some of these stories, or examples, as you, and it is not. I have gathered all stories and I use bits of information to create the characters mentioned in my book to help YOU the reader relate and learn, or just read for enjoyment. To protect client information and privacy, my stories are real but the client is protected, and employers are not mentioned to identify them. I just enjoy writing about my experiences as a trainer for all these years and I want you to be able to learn, laugh, and just enjoy. I have had my personal training business that I call wellness, for over 15 years, so I have been self employed for a long time, and these stories are not about my clients from the gym, and this is my personal opinions that do not reflect the gym I work at still. I think you get the idea. Just keep reading. See what you think. I do not claim to be an expert at anything but I do know I have worked in the Fitness Industry for over 18 years, and I have been a cycling Instructor for all these years and I know enough. When I wrote my book "The Secret Sauce for Cycling Intructors..." I received my first review from a guy that worked for a radio station or something like this, and he was reviewing my book, he said don't bother, and quoted my book (which he should not have), and it was taken out of context. I wrote this book for instructors so they could learn from my experience. He mentioned that I did not explain heart rate training. I did not write that book to explain something that the Instructors already know, or they should know, they are certified. Right? The reason why I am mentioning this is because I want you to know, I can't read reviews anymore. He missed the whole point of the book, it was not to educate them on exercise science, and heart rate training, this book was about marketing your class, and how I have done it for all these years. This book is storytelling, experiences, and information I have gathered along the way, that I have seen work. Solid observation, again not claiming to be a know it all, but I have been hands on for all these years. A cycling coach and ironman triathlete, was passing through town, and decided he would work out at the gym I work at, he gave me the best compliment that could not have come at a better time (you know just when you have been a little down), he told me that my students looked and performed like his professional triathletes, and cyclists. He had attended other cycling classes as he had been at different facilities, and gyms around the world, yes around the world, and he too has his own program. My students had excellent form, and he could tell they had POWER, and he went on to be so excited about my class, and he did not even attend. He told me he observed my whole class, and was amazed at how well I was training my students, compared to other instructors, and he elaborated on classes he had attended in the past few weeks. He mentioned that he saw none of the same students in the other classes he attended, and he knows why. What a huge difference, and it showed. I knew because the students that attended class that night have been training with me for 14 years, 10 years, and 3 years, etc. They have been coming back for more, and they are really healthy. So here it is the book that will explain what I coach and what I teach to my students, and clients for all these years. All written out, and hopefully this can replace all of my long winded conversations after my classes, and long phone conversations to my international clients. I hope you enjoy what I have to share about my career in the fitness industry, and my story. This book is not a how to exercise, you all know how to do some form of exercise, it is a book that let's you know what I have observed, and hopefully you will leave with a take away. Enjoy! Disclaimer: This book is my personal opinion and is not affiliated wirh any gym or fitness company, or exercise program, use at your own risk and consult your physician if you are new to exercise and dieting.
