I have written this book to take you from question of "Can I make money doing Embroidery?" to actually starting the business. I discuss and you plan the process from beginning to end.
When you decide to start a business, it has to be something you are either passionate about or can become passionate about. Embroidery is a fun process. I find it cool to be able to create something that someone else wants and is happy with. It is simple to do and only takes a few minutes of your time to setup before sitting down with a good book or computer game while the machine does the rest. The work is easy to find and people I have talked to who work in the embroidery business say work is not hard to find and it is profitable. There are multiple niches within the embroidery business. Take a minute to think of where you see embroidered clothing. Business clothing for almost any size business, pet stores, flea markets, schools, churches, fund raisers, and so many more. What can you think of? With embroidery, it is important to think of an area you want to start out in. This will be very important when you create your marketing plan and decide on where to spend your marketing/advertising dollars. For the rest of this article I am going to stay with our initial niche, Camping. Whatever niche you are going to work, you will find a ready sales force that you can call on. If it is specialty advertisers they are your customer and sales force, if it is churches they are your sales force. It is important as well to be able to contact these people in a friendly and economical matter as well as come up with a list to contact. For us, we went to the web. Every state has a campground association of some type. They have a list of all the campgrounds, websites, and contact information. Can’t decide on a niche? Maybe these questions will help.
